It's quite a long name for a video, but it corresponds completely with the contents of the videotape. It's an Island Visual Arts production released in 1991, and has a play length of 65 minutes and 2 seconds. Starting with "Interference" there is a U2 history mix containing almost every single hit from I Will Follow to The Fly. The rest of the "Interference" consists of snaps from interviews with the band members, and tiny fragments of videos. I believe I saw the "Interference" part once on MTV Europe. [He is indeed correct. It also aired on MTV in the US. --Ed]. If you haven't seen that (It was in the "U2 Rockumentary"), you should really buy the video.
Next up are the video's. This tape contains every video that has been made from the Achtung Baby album. [With the exception of the video for Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses, which wasn't done at the time the tape was made, and Love is Blindness which is on the Numb Video.--Ed] First is Even Better Than The Real Thing. This is the video in which the camera flies around the band and through Bono's legs. I must say, this video presents a bit of a dilemma: I read somewhere on the net that a German U2 look-alike band called The Doppelgangers was used in the video in many places. [I've heard this too. It sounds possible, especially given the title of the song. --Ed]. I didn't really notice, except for an odd-looking Adam Clayton.
The second clip is Mysterious Ways, the one with the belly-dancer. Then comes version number one of the One video (there are three different versions). This first version features the band dressed as women, and the Trabants painted like a man and a woman. Bono's father is also featured.
The real fun begins with the video for The Fly. These videos are rarely shown on the usual music programs like MTV. The dance mixes of Even Better Than The Real Thing are another example.
Version number two of the One video is the version which is also shown on the video-wall at U2 concerts like the one in Sydney. It features running buffalos, flowers, and the word "one" in many different languages (not in Duch, though).
Another version of the Even Better Than The Real Thing video and version number three of One are next. The latter is a version of One which personally I had never seen before. [I guess it doesn't play as much in Europe as it does in the US. I've seen it on MTV many, many times. --Ed]. Bono just sits in a bar and sings the song. Quite brilliant.
To end things there is a really weird clip from Until the End of the World which I also had never seen before. [And let's not forget the priceless ending clips in which Edge talks about owls and owl droppings. Great stuff! --Ed].
All in all, it's a great video if you want to collect all the U2 video clips. For just F49,95 (in Dutch guilders) [or $19.00 US] you can stop watching every minute of MTV in the hopes of catching a U2 video. It's a really neat video, but if you're not interested in U2 music-videos, it will be quite a disappointment for the price you have paid. It rates 75 out of 100.
